A hard-hitting pair of bantamweight will be throwing themselves in February at UFC 271.

Fight was the first to announce the news that Douglas Silva de Andrade will face Sergey Morozov at the PPV event on February 12, 2022. Morozov will later confirm the booking via social media.

Silva de Andrade (27-4) was just released from a Performance of the Night knockout of Gaetano Pirrello last week at UFC Vegas 38. The victory marked the second performance bonus of Silva de Andrade’s career in the ‘Ultimate Fighting Championship. The Brazilian has also returned to the bantamweight bout after going 1-1 at featherweight. Silva de Andrade is 5-4 in the promotion with losses to Petr Yan and Rob Font.

In his last outing, Sergey Morozov (17-4) claimed his first UFC victory, defeating Khalid Taha by unanimous decision. The Kazakhstan fighter lost his UFC debut to much-vaunted Umar Nurmagomedov in January on “Fight Island”. Morozov is a former M-1 bantamweight champion with nine finishes to his name.

No venue, location or broadcast plan has been officially announced for the UFC pay-per-view on February 12. However, the highly anticipated middleweight championship rematch between Israel Adesanya and Robert Whittaker would be front page news.

UFC 271 currently looks like this:

  • Douglas Silva de Andrade v Sergei Morozov
  • AJ Dobson vs. Jacob Malkoun

After his exit from the Ultimate Fighting Championship, former Junior heavyweight champion Dos Santos was looking for a new position. At least temporarily, “Cigano” seems to have found one.

The affable Brazilian slugger recently appeared alongside Dan Lambert of the American Top Team, serving as an executor. In Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite, the ATT coach hosted a six-party team wrestling match between the “Men of the Year” (page Scorpio Skye and Ethan), plus Dos Santos, against the ‘Chris Jericho’s Inner Circle (likely made up of Jericho, Bellator heavyweight Jake Hager, and AEW TNT champion Sammy Guevara).

This happened following an in-ring showdown involving JDS, Dalton Rosta, Paige VanZant and the Men of the Year, Dos Santos finding himself in a fallen Guevara until Jericho and Hager came to his aid.

Dos Santos (21-9) last fought for the UFC in December 2020, losing to current interim champion Ciryl Gane. It was the Brazilian’s fourth consecutive loss, with all four coming via TKO. Prior to that, Dos Santos was sitting on a three-game winning streak.

“Cigano” won gold in the first UFC on the FOX card in 2011, knocking out Cain Velasquez. He defended the title once, against Frank Mir, before losing it to Velasquez. He would also lose the rubber match of their trilogy in 2013, but would revert to a title shot against Stipe Miocic at UFC 211 in May 2017.

Coincidentally, former rival Cain Velasquez also pursued a professional wrestling career following his exit from the UFC, first for the AAA and then for WWE. Velasquez was released by World Wrestling Entertainment earlier this year.

Lambert’s promo on Wednesday night referred to the upcoming match with JDS at AEW Rampage on October 15, which means the actual date you can see JDS making his in-ring debut is pending. October 15th is a Wednesday AEW Dynamite airs live. Rampage, recorded the same evening, airs on Fridays – so the game with JDS may be delayed until then.

Sign up for ESPN + here, and then you can stream UFC, PFL, Dana White’s Contender Series, and “The Ultimate Fighter” live to your smart TV, computer, phone, tablet, or streaming device through the ESPN app. Rashad Evans, on December 27, 2008, became only the eighth man to reach the top of the Ultimate Fighting Championship at 205 pounds. While his reign as a light heavyweight champion lasted only 147 days, his accomplishments continued to resonate long after his run as an elite mixed martial artist ended. Evans won season 2 of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ reality series as an undersized heavyweight, demoted a weight class, and pieced together a Hall of Fame resume over his 14-year career. in MMA. He made his last appearance inside the Octagon in June 2018, when he suffered a blow to the knee from Anthony Smith 53 seconds after their showdown at UFC 225. Evans, now aged 42 years old, has a professional record of 19-8-1. He was inducted into the Modern Era Wing of the UFC Hall of Fame in 2019.

As Evans’ competitive exploits delve deeper into the story, a look at some of the rivalries that helped shape his successful career:

“The Iceman” was no longer the undisputed light heavyweight champion, and his Hall of Fame career seemed to end when he faced Evans in the headliner of UFC 88 on September 6, 2008 in the Philips Arena in Atlanta. Evans, meanwhile, was on the rise. His speed and athleticism proved problematic for the aging Liddell. Countless opponents had been drawn into Liddell’s counters, but Evans stuck to his game plan, stepped away from danger and forced the San Luis Obispo, Calif., Native to pursue him. This allowed John Hackleman’s protege to reach with his punches, and he’s done it once too many. Evans timed one of his attacks perfectly and planted a crushing right hook in the jaw of the former champion who flipped the stop switch, hundreds of Liddell’s Mohawk supporters backing into the crowd. Referee Herb Dean arrived at the scene at 1:51 am of the second round to request the stop. Silenced by the coup de grace, spectators were sure they had witnessed a death. Three months later, Evans won the UFC light heavyweight crown. Liddell never won another fight.

With a game plan steeped in speed, eliminations, and superior melee work, Evans defeated “Rampage” by unanimous decision in the main event of UFC 114 on May 29, 2010 at the MGM Grand Garden. Las Vegas Arena. The scores were 30-27, 29-28 and 30-27, as Evans had the final say after the two trained against each other in season 10 of the reality series “The Ultimate. Fighter “. “Suga” started off with a bang when he sent Jackson back with a right hand in the opening rally. The Niagara Falls, New York native immediately switched to melee and began to chomp at Jackson’s resolve. Evans scored with a takedown with 2:15 left in the first round and rushed to an early lead in one of the most emotionally charged grudge matches in UFC history. The second round followed a similar pattern. Evans continued to push the melee and kept his opponent’s back pressed against the cage. Visibly frustrated, the tired Jackson retreated to his corner and needed a knockout at the end of the second round. He had his chance in the third, where he bullied Evans in the cage, fidgeted and threatened to finish him down. Evans resisted the attack and Jackson, possibly running out of gas, couldn’t take advantage of the opportunity, even though his counterpart faltered in front of him. Evans closed hard, as he delivered another takedown with 1:45 to go, pinned Jackson against the cage and dropped punches from the top.

A vicious and beautifully executed knee kick to the body crippled Ortiz and sent Evans to a technical second round knockout in the headliner of UFC 133 on August 6, 2011 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” lost 4:48 in the second round. Backed by superior athleticism, speed and power, Evans outclassed the Californian for vast spans of combat – a rematch of their July 2007 meeting at UFC 73 that ended in a draw. There was no doubt about this one. Evans resisted a pullout in the first round, got to his feet and let go of his hands, causing Ortiz to swarm with punches against the cage. Many were blocked, but the assault shook the resolve of the founder of Team Punishment. Evans then executed a powerful slam, passed the guard to lateral control, and settled in with his ground and pound. Ortiz survived, but he left the first round damaged and breathless. He made one last attempt to secure an unlikely victory 90 seconds after the start of the second round, where he strangled a guillotine choke. However, he failed to surround Evans in full guard, and “Suga” broke free with minimal effort, moved to a top position, and trapped Ortiz disappearing into a mounted crucifix. Elbows dropped, as Ortiz darted forward from below. Later, with Ortiz sitting against the cage, Evans delivered a devastating knee to the breastbone. Ortiz folded, as the finish became imminent. Referee Dan Miragliotta stepped in seconds later.

“Bones” controlled distance, unveiled an endless bag of tricks and maintained his grip on the 205-pound division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, as he defeated Evans by unanimous decision to retain his light heavyweight crown in the main event of UFC 145 on April 21, 2012 at the Philips Arena in Atlanta. All three judges saw it for Jones: 49-46, 49-46 and 50-45. His prodigious attacking talent and creativity was something to see. The Jackson-Wink MMA rep tore Evans to pieces with kicks in the leg, body and head, a stiff left kick, crackling right hands, and even violent melee shoulder strikes. However, his most effective weapon was the standing elbow, a technique for which Evans seemed totally unprepared. He almost finished the fight for Jones in the second round, where he shifted his old friend and training partner against the cage. A flying knee and a beautiful left hook followed soon after. Evans, like others who came before him, struggled to get around Jones’ huge reach advantage. He landed a clean header in the first round that appeared to shake Jones up and delivered a nice right hand in the third. Beyond that, he mostly fought with his back to the cage, eating punches and kicks from a distance. Jones punctuated his latest conquest with a solid fifth round, as he pressed a jab with a crisp right hand, opened a clinch knee and scored with the only out of the bout. Evans broke free, perhaps wary of the champion’s infamous nudges on the ground, but his fate had long been sealed.

Evans made the mistake of playing the game of Pride Fighting Championships veterans and ended up on the wrong side of a unanimous decision in the UFC 156 co-feature on February 2, 2013 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. All three judges reached the same verdict: 29-28 for Nogueira. The well-traveled Brazilian kept Evans at the end of his stiff right jab and robust left center for much of the fairly uneventful 15-minute showdown. Evans got his only out late in the first round, allowing Nogueira to settle into a rhythm on the feet. Neither man had much impact in the standing rally, but Nogueira hit with more volume, precision and authority in the second and third rounds, helping him carry the scorecards. It was the first time in Evans’ career that he had suffered back-to-back defeats. He won just two of his next seven fights before retiring in 2018. Advertising

During Manchester United’s early kick-off against Everton on Saturday 2 October, a special someone was present at Old Trafford, who had come from his native Russia to watch the Reds’ 2021/22 Premier League (PL) game and also meet his longtime friend in 36-year-old Portuguese idol Cristiano Ronaldo.

Arguably the greatest fighter in UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) history, Russian Khabib Nurmagomedov was spotted watching both Manchester clubs in action in PL last weekend in England. Khabib was at Old Trafford for United’s 1-1 draw with Everton before making the short trip to Anfield the next day for Manchester City’s thrilling away fixture against title rivals Liverpool, who ended in ended in a 2-2 draw. After watching Man United’s 1-1 draw with Everton, Khabib thanked the team for the invitation and also apologized to Ronaldo and United legend David Beckham for securing a No.7 shirt. with his own name on the back.

“Lucky” Lauren Murphy lived up to her nickname at UFC 266. The card featured three fights in her weight class, and I would rank Murphy fifth among those six female flyweights. Still, it was Murphy who challenged the great Valentina Shevchenko for the 125-pound crown in the main co-event. Part of this was due to the brutal dominance of Shevchenko, who had crushed the card’s second-best flyweight, Jessica Andrade, on her last outing. While I see them as superior fighters to Murphy, it makes perfect sense why neither Cynthia Calvillo nor Taila Santos received belt cracks. However, I can’t think of a single title challenger in Ultimate Fighting Championship history that was overshadowed by so many competitors at the same event. How did Murphy get this singular opportunity?

After being dominated by “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 26 rival Sijara Eubanks – she won all three rounds – in 2018, Murphy embarked on a five-game winning streak. While it looks impressive on paper, a closer inspection reveals several great qualifiers. For starters, Murphy’s “win” over Andrea Lee in front of a Houston crowd at UFC 247 was one of the worst heists I’ve seen in 26 years watching MMA. Not only

100% of MMA journalists and 93% of fans
Having it for Lee, but the most common scorecard, the one I share, was a 30-27 sweep. Regular UFC judge Chris Lee scored it for Lee, but rarely used local judges Patrick Patlan and Danny Dealejandro – he hit a putrid scorecard 30-27 for Murphy – gave it to the local fighter. It was also the infamous match in which commentator Dominick Cruz noted that a judge was looking at his phone for much of the third round.

While not so blatant, Murphy’s most recent victory over Joanne Calderwood has been a very close battle that has
a slight majority of MMA journalists and 75% of fans
scored for Calderwood. In other words, Murphy’s five-game winning streak could very easily have seen her go 3-2. Among Murphy’s three uncontroversial triumphs, she clinched a solid and respectable victory over tough veteran Roxanne Modafferi. She also won a knockout victory over Mara Romero Borella which was good at the time but has since lost some of its shine. While a capable wrestler, Borella has one of the worst chins in UFC history and a terrible submission defense. Including Murphy’s loss, Borella has now given up four fights in a row – three of them saves and the other a 15-minute one-sided beating administered by Montana De La Rosa – and finds himself out of the UFC. Murphy also earned a submission victory over Liliya Shakirova, a late substitute and limited fighter who was also overshadowed by Murphy. A whopping 125 pounds who fought most of his career at 135 pounds, Murphy looked two bigger weight classes than Shakirova, who could have even fought at 115 pounds.

So Murphy, a tough and resilient veteran who still wouldn’t rank among the top 10 female flyweights in the world, especially if you include the Bellator MMA division, had a title opportunity against a dominant grand champion in Shevchenko.

It also got me thinking: what are some other examples of unlikely UFC title challengers, MMA equivalents of Chuck wepner, the inspiration behind Rocky Balboa?

An immediate example that comes to mind is Elvis Sinosic. While he was an MMA pioneer in Australia and a cool guy in every way, the reality is that Sinosic was not an elite fighter. He ended his career with a 7-12-2 record and featured a very poor, barely existing, striking and mediocre fight; and while he relied on his Brazilian jiu-jitsu, he could be beaten and subdued by the best in the discipline. Yet at UFC 32, with a .500 4-4-1 record, he challenged one of the sport’s best pound-for-pound fighters, Tito Ortiz, for the light heavyweight championship in the main event. Ortiz made short work of his opponent, decimating him to ground-and-pound and causing a stoppage midway through the first round. How did Sinosic seize this opportunity? In his previous UFC appearance, he submitted Jeremy Horn in the first round in what was by far the biggest win of his career. In fact, it’s his one and only UFC win, as he would lose five more times in the organization after Ortiz’s fight, leaving his promotional record at an unenviable 1-6. Interestingly, there was another light heavyweight fight at UFC 32 between Vladimir Matyushenko (he would challenge and lose to Ortiz one event later) and Yuki Kondo (he had previously challenged and lost to Ortiz), who were both unquestionably superior to Sinosic.

There was a lot of justified criticism of Chael Sonnen challenging Jon Jones in the main event of UFC 159 in 2013. Sonnen was always a notable contender in the middleweight, as his last four outings there have seen his wins over Brian Stan Michael Bisping sandwiched between memorable losses to longtime champion Anderson Silva. Even so, why was he skipping the line for a 205-pound throne shot? The last time Sonnen had even fought as a light heavyweight in the UFC was in 2005, when he faced Renato Sobral at UFC 55; and it was in a wasted effort. Aside from a toe injury, Jones easily knocked out Sonnen in the first round. Plus, there were two more lightweight fights at UFC 159, and Phil Davis and Ovince St. Preux were without a doubt better than Sonnen. While St. Preux would later receive a title shot, Davis never did.

Interestingly, I wouldn’t include Matt Serra’s welterweight title at Georges St. Pierre on this list. Serra was widely regarded as a highly skilled Top 10 lightweight who was forced to fight in the heaviest division since the UFC shut down 155 pounds. Even with that caveat, he had won five of his previous six outings – these included his run in Season 4 of “The Ultimate Fighter” – and had done so mostly against good, tough opponents. The only flaw was a loss of decision to Karo Parisyan, a feared Top 5 welterweight at the time. There were six other welterweights on the card besides Serra and St. Pierre, and the undersized challenger was way better than at least four of them: Josh Haynes, protege Luke Cummo, Pete Spratt (a man Serra knocked out in the first round (“The Ultimate Fighter”) and Marcus Davis. At the very least, Serra would have delivered tough and competitive fights to the two other 170 books on the bill: the young versions of Josh Koscheck and Diego Sanchez.

And you, dear readers? What examples of highly unlikely UFC title challengers come to mind? Advertising

PCCW reportedly created a new division to take over the production and artist management activities of its free-to-air television division ViuTV, and appointed ViuTV director and general manager Lo Ting-fai as CEO of the new company. According to several reports, Lo will lead the new self-funded company that will not only manage the production and management of artists, but also explore more opportunities in overseas markets. In addition, PCCW is also said to have appointed former TVB general manager Cheong Shin Keong as the main consultant. PCCW said that Cheong will offer ideas and solutions to the company based on its business and growth.

ViuTV’s activity is growing. According to the announcement of PCCW’s interim results for the six months ended June 30, 2021, ViuTV’s advertising business flourished in the first half of 2021, with additional spending from new and existing advertisers attributable to the company’s local content and the growing popularity of his talents such as MIRROR. . As a result, advertising revenue increased 66% to HK $ 188 million. PCCW added that its artist and event management business has also benefited from the increase in viewership, while MIRROR gave sold-out concerts earlier this year and band members performed in international brand advertisements. Overall, Free TV and related activities nearly doubled its revenue to HK $ 256 million.

Business expansion and increased revenue helped reduce EBITDA loss of free-to-air TV and related activities from HK $ 95 million for the first half of 2020 to HK $ 44 million for the first semester 2021. The company is expected to be on track to achieve profitability in the near future.

Reviewing its success, PCCW attributed the growth of ViuTV to broadcasting the Tokyo 2020 Olympics complemented by a range of team play programs to further increase audience and monetization. Going forward, PCCW will continue to offer unique local content to maintain the growth momentum, for example, the recent broadcast of Love Ossan (HK version) was a huge success and received overwhelming responses from the Hong Kong community.

Meanwhile, ViuTV’s sister company Now TV is set to announce a deal to bring the FIA Formula 1 World Championship to Now TV viewers in Hong Kong for the 2021 and 2022 seasons. Now TV has started. to introduce F1 to fans in Hong Kong last month, starting with the 2021 Heineken Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix on September 5.

“F1 is one of the most watched sporting events in Hong Kong. We are very happy to have entered into a broadcast deal with Formula 1, allowing fans to continue enjoying this world-class racing event for the next two seasons. F1 not only enriches our range of premium sports content, but also meets the needs of customers who want to watch different sporting events. To increase the appeal to Hong Kong F1 fans, we will improve the Cantonese commentary, ”said Derek Choi, Head of Pay TV, HKT.

Now TV also recently signed an agreement with the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship). Now TV plans to broadcast 42 live events per year, which consist of 30 UFC Fight Nights to be broadcast on Now Sports Plus (Channel 680) and 12 UFC numbered events to be broadcast on Now Sports 5 (Channel 635). Subscribers will be able to watch the action via Now TV’s on-demand service. Other magazine programs, including Dana White’s Contender Series, UFC Connected and UFC Countdown, will also be made available to UFC fans.

At one point seen by many as the next big thing at 135 pounds, Thomas Almeida is leaving the UFC on a four-game losing streak. The slip came after a 5-1 start to his promotional tenure. In the UFC, Almeida beat Brad Pickett and Yves Jabouin, among others. Still only 30 years old, Almeida is hoping that one or two wins outside of promotion will bring him back.

MMA Junkie’s Farah Hannoun confirmed Almeida’s departure on Saturday with someone familiar with the situation.

Boston’s Mike Rodriguez burst onto the national radar when he flattened Jamelle Jones with a flying knee that won him a contract in “Dana White’s Contender Series,” season 1 in 2017. During a promotional term of eight fighting, Rodriguez has produced mixed results. His UFC victories came against Adam Milstead and Marcin Prachnio. He leaves the UFC on a slippage losing three fights, including a controversial loss to Ed Herman in September 2020.

Former LFA champion Sarah Alpar entered the UFC after a 2019 victory in Dana White’s Contender Series. However, she had failed in both of her UFC appearances. After a TKO loss to Jessica-Rose Clark in her early days, Alpar started a Go Fund Me to help with the finances. The account made headlines when YouTuber-turned-boxing star Jake Paul and Triller donated a total of $ 30,000 to the fund. Weeks later, she would lose a unanimous decision to Erin Blanchfield.

MMA Junkie’s Nolan King confirmed Alpar’s departure on Saturday with someone familiar with the situation.

135 pounds: Bethe correia vs. Karol Rosa

Round 1: Buffer presents Rosa (in black underwear and bra) and for the last time, Correia (in yellow). Herb Dean at ref. No touch of gloves. Rosa with a kick that touches the thigh. Inside kick for Rosa and Correia try to come back with a right hand, but misses. They pick up and Rosa kneels down as Correia rips punches to the body. A hard blow on the outside lands for Rosa and she gets a few extra knees.

Not a good start for Correia so far. She bends down to throw one body to the right and one left to the head. Rosa lands right at the head and backs up in front of the return light. Rosa’s knee jump to her body causes Cormier to growl loudly at the microphone. Correia tries to counter a low kick with a 1-2, but they are mostly blocked. Rosa’s liver stroke. There is a right hand which passes the guard of Rosa. Rosa changes levels for a teardown and they are against the fence. Correia defends well with double hooks and it’s the end of the round. 10-9 Rosa.

Round 2: Rosa with a nice low kick and a left hand. Big knee running up to the chest for her too. Correia begins to be taken apart. 1-2-knee-2 and Correia ate those two right hands. Correia swaying, but mostly slapping her arms. There is a 3-2 in Rosa’s guts. Another knee to the torso. Rosa landing hard knocks. Correia makes sure she’s bringing traffic, but mostly she gets hit by the bus here. They cling to the fence. Rosa separates for a second to land a big right elbow. Finally they break. Correia gets a nice right hand. That knee step lands every time Rosa tries it. Correia has no response at all. 10-9 Rosa.

Round 3: Rosa always lands well and clean most of the time. Good knee (again) followed by a right hand. It’s not exactly a one-sided beating, but it came pretty close. Bethe lands a bit more often this round, but none of them seem to interfere with what Rosa wants to do. Rosa kicks hard inside the leg, misses a kick, but lands a left hand seconds later. Correia gets double hooks, but flips her against the cage and can’t seem to be able to spin Karol. Yet another knee that jumps. Correia gets knocked down and ends the fight at the bottom by eating a few punches. 10-9 Pink

Final result: Rosa def. Correia by decision (30-27 x2, 30-26)

155 lbs: Jamie Mullarkey vs. Devonte smith

Round 1: Mullarkey opens with a jab as both fighters battle for the early hitting position. Not much action in the first minute – feel the process on your feet. Smith lands a nice short left hook and turns to his right. Mullarkey stops his roll with a left kick to the body. Smith responds with a big left hook that seemed to hurt Mullarkey… but he quickly cleaned up the cobwebs. Mullarkey misses with a low kick, Smith pumping a jab to get back inside. Another low blow from Mullarkey. Smith’s huge knee, which opens Mullarkey on his face. Mullarkey continues to chase Smith regardless, continuing to try to attack Smith’s bottom half with poor results. Smith’s low kick / Stockton slap combination stunned Mullarkey for a second. With 30 seconds remaining, he pressed Smith against the cage and scored a lightning strikeout. Smith defended another strikeout at the bell, with Mullarkey landing a few punches upstairs from behind. 10-9 Smith.

Round 2: Mullarkey comes out aggressive again, with Smith more than happy to play the counter-sniper role. Smith’s forward kick, with Mullarkey scoring with a low kick that Smith clearly didn’t appreciate. Another low kick from Mullarkey as Smith moved back into the fence. Mullarkey traps him along the fence, but it doesn’t take long for Smith to get out of harm’s way. The announcers seem to think Smith is compromised by the two big kicks in the legs and they might not be wrong. Mullarkey eventually traps Smith against the cage and begins to open up with a dirty boxing barrage. Smith is in trouble, knocking Smith down on the canvas with hard inside punches, ripping punches to the body and mixing up hard knees. Smith is in trouble and doesn’t retaliate … and that’s it! Mullarkey finds a finish midway through the second round after likely giving up the opening stanza.

End result: Mullarkey beat. Smith by technical knockout (strikes) at 2:51 of the second round

135 pounds: Gaetano Pirrello vs. Douglas Silva de Andrade

Technical difficulties … play-by-play for this unavailable fight.

Final result: Silva de Andrade beat. Pirrello by KO (punches) at 2:04 of Round 1 – STRONG POINTS

Final result: Perez def. Eduardo by submission (armband) at 4:13 of Round 2 – STRONG POINTS

SINGAPORE – Formula 1 fans in the Republic can breathe a sigh of relief after Singtel announced on Saturday (October 2) that it had secured the rights to broadcast the sport here.

This follows the shutdown of Fox Sports channels in Southeast Asia the day before, a move that had frustrated many sports fans, especially those who are passionate about F1, tennis and golf.

Those who subscribe to the Singtel World Sports Pack, Variety Packs and all Value and Ultimate Packs can continue to watch F1 on mio Sports 2 (Ch 112) at no additional cost for the remainder of the season as well as the term. 2022.

All Singtel TV customers will also get a free preview of the Turkish Grand Prix from October 8-10.

Those not currently subscribed to Singtel TV packs can sign up for its Cast Sports Plus streaming service on a standalone basis, which costs $ 49.90 per month. Or they can sign up for the Phone Company’s Starter Pack ($ 23.90) and World Sports Pack (add $ 14.90 per month).

The news will be welcomed by F1 fans, who until Singtel was announced did not have the opportunity to watch the races live. Although F1 TV can be seen here, the live racing action was only streamed through F1 TV Pro, which is not available in Singapore.

The 2021 F1 season has been the most exciting in years, unlike previous terms when Mercedes Lewis Hamilton entered the Drivers’ Championship. With Red Bull’s Max Verstappen facing off against the seven-time world champion, the season saw several dramatic twists and turns, and the duo took turns leading the title race. With only seven races to go, Briton Hamilton (246.5 points) is ahead of his Dutch rival by just two points.

Anna Yip, Managing Director of Singtel Consumer Singapore, said: “We know that sports fans don’t want to miss a single Formula 1 race, especially as the 2021 season is shaping up to be the most exciting yet. .

“Therefore, we have worked hard over the past few months to bring Formula 1 to Singtel TV so that our customers can continue to follow full live coverage of the exhilarating and action-packed races.

“We are committed to providing customers with a wide range of sports content and continue to work closely with our partners to update our range.

“Sports fans can look forward to more top sporting events in the coming weeks.”

Last week, Singtel signed a deal with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), which was previously also available only on Fox Sports, to broadcast its UFC Fight Nights starting Sunday on mio Sports 2 (Ch 112).

The telephone company has also added new channels, including Astro Cricket (Ch 123) and Eurosport (Ch 116), which will offer content such as international cricket, cycling and winter sports events.
