The annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) is scheduled to take place May 22-26, marking the WEF’s first in-person global leadership event since the start of the pandemic.

The annual meeting was originally scheduled for January, but was later turned into a virtual event in light of the rise in COVID-19 infections over the winter.

It takes place at the most crucial geopolitical and geoeconomic crossroads of the last three decades, against the backdrop of a unique pandemic and open warfare in Eastern Europe. The role of decentralized finance in the future of governance will be another key event to watch. The session will see discussions on the need for centralization in the decision-making process and whether DeFi protocols can do without regulation. The discussion on the subject will take place on Tuesday from 11:00 to 12:00 UTC.
